Title XKS seismic waveforms from the COMPASS-ELIP array
Creator Yun Chen
Subject XKS seismic waveforms
Publisher Xiukuan Zhao
Description To trace the geological records left by the proposed ancient mantle plume, COMprehensive geophysical investigations were conducted in Emeishan Large Igneous Province approximately along the latitude of 27◦N from Fugong, Yunnan to Guiding, Guizhou, including 1) PASSive seismic array (COMPASS-ELIP); 2) WIDEangle reflection/refraction seismic profile (COMWIDE-ELIP); 3) GRAvity profile (COMGRA-ELIP); 4) geoMAGnetism profile (COMMAG-ELIP). The COMPASS-ELIP array includes 59 seismographs (Reftek-130 data loggers + Guralp CMG3ESP sensors 50Hz–30s/60s) which are maintained by the Seismic Array Laboratory, Institute of Geology and Geophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. This database provides seismic waveforms of reliable XKS (SKS, SKKS and PKS) splitting and null measurements from the COMPASS-ELIP array. Sac files are sorted in the directories as: ./station/YYYY.DDD.HH.MM.SS.station.phase.result.component.sac... (e.g., ./E01/2011. Earthquake information can be found on the USGS website (earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/search/).

Type Sac files have a sampling frequency of 40 Hz and a length within the time window of 100 s before and 200 s after the t0, which are marked in the headers of sac files by the theoretical travel times of XKS phases predicted by the IASP91 model (Kennett & Engdahl, 1991).
Format .sac, available in Sac, Obspy, Matlab and so on.
